The Hades
In May 1995 Jens Lindberg took a plane to Athens, Greece in order to meet long time pen pal Apostolos Stragalinos.
They both shared the love for 60’s garage rock, Jens being part in many Swedish 80 neo-garage groups and Apostolos in The Odd Mods.
Apostolos was also friends with the guys in The Cardinals, an ultra-retro combo led by Dimitrios Beleniotis along with members Andreas Paparrousos, Michael Nezis and Bill Nezis.
Jens and Apostolos hung out in the rehearsing local of The Cardinals, where they put up a show playing their own moody originals along with obscure 60’s stuff – music that made the head of Jens explode and gave him the inspiration to his future work with The Maharajas.
A couple of days later, after Jens had been to Thessaloniki, hangin’ out with crazy wildmen of The Frantic V, he returned to Athens to record a couple of Cardinals fave 60’s songs.
Two of these songs are now for the first time released on vinyl by Phylloxera Records...
